syria participates in the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)  

Manama, SANA- A delegation from the People’s Assembly headed by Maysa Saleh, Secretary of the Assembly, participated in the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) which is currently being held in Manama, Bahrain, from 11 to 15 March 2023.

The General Debate focus on the theme of ‘Promoting peaceful coexistence and inclusive societies: Fighting intolerance’.

This Assembly includes several meetings, as well as workshops and events.

During the coordination meetings of the parliamentary groups participating in the IPU, the Speaker and members of the participating People’s Assembly delegation stressed the need to unite efforts of Arab, Asian and Islamic parliamentary federations and councils to defend issues of common concern.

The delegation also participated in the meetings of the Bureau and Forum of Women Parliamentarians in the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
