Kyrgyzstan, Japan discuss cooperation in energy sector

Bishkek, Dec. 20, 2022 / Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov received President of the Japanese company Muroo Systems Co Zhongsing Pan. The parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation in the energy sector. During the meeting, Akylbek Zhaparov noted the republic's interest in expanding investment and technological cooperation with Muroo Systems Co, attracting capital, best practices and modern technological solutions for the modernization and technological renewal of the country's energy infrastructure. The chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that in Kyrgyzstan the development of the energy sector is defined as a national priority, real practical steps are being taken in the country to improve the investment climate. Akylbek Zhaparov said that the Memorandum of Understanding signed today between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and Muroo Systems Co is an important document for further practical cooperation. The president of the Japanese company Muroo Systems Co noted that he is ready for close cooperation and constructive negotiations on the implementation of promising projects for the construction of hydroelectric power plants. “If the HPP project is successfully implemented, many companies in Japan will also notice the investment potential of Kyrgyzstan and opportunities are open up for other Japanese companies to invest in Kyrgyzstan,” he said.
