President al- Assad receives a message from President Lukashenko on prospects of developing bilateral cooperation

24 November، 2022 Damascus, SANA- President Bashar al-Assad received Thursday Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, and accompanying delegation. Golovchenko handed over President al- Assad a message from Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko, on the relations of friendship binding the two countries and prospects of developing bilateral cooperation. President al-Assad described this visit as important not only in terms of the bilateral agreements that were signed between the two countries, but also in order to search for specific areas of cooperation and launch it in a practical way moving forward with establishing joint investment projects benefiting both parties. President al-Assad indicated that Belarus is being targeted because of its strategic location in the heart of Europe and the independence of its decisions and policies, stressing that the West is pursuing a policy of waging wars so that it can continue because “if these wars stop, system of domination will be dismantled”. President al-Assad went on to say that the Western States failed to achieve their goals through this policy in many countries such as Syria, Russia and Belarus, so that they moved to economic wars, considering that unifying efforts between these countries is important for confronting these wars, as well as establishing a network of economic relations with countries that have the same principles and values, and then the West will be isolated. President al-Assad thanked Belarus for standing by Syria in the face of the terrorist war it is facing through its firm positions towards Syria’s unity and territorial integrity. The Prime Minister, for his part, affirmed that areas of cooperation with Syria are unlimited, noting that institutions in Belarus have prepared for setting up several projects and exchanging products between the two countries. “Belarus is looking forward to preserve holding meeting among institutions of both countries to expand the productive sectors and reactivate joint projects”. “The world is undergoing the most profound transformation since World War II”, Golovchenkom added, “Several new alliances have been formed among countries that pursue policies independently of the West, referring to the Western Campaign on Belarus during the past two years been waged to deteriorate living conditions and paralyzing economic facilities, not to mention psychological warfare and propaganda to influence public opinion. Golovchenkom expressed appreciation to Damascus stance supporting Minsk through the hard times asserting that their battle is one.
