Germany’s anti-Iran human rights claims political move: Official
Tehran, IRNA - Head of the presidential office Gholam-Hossein Esmaeili has said that the attempts to approve an anti-Iran resolution on human rights issues have their roots in political motivations.
Esmaeili said on the sidelines of a Wednesday meeting of the cabinet in Tehran that the main violators of human rights in the world are the Western governments, while the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to the issue; so, efforts to put forward an anti-Iran resolution is a political move not a real act to support human rights.
He made the remarks in response to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany’s endeavors to pave the way for ratification of a human rights-related resolution against Iran, adding that the claims asserted by the Western countries especially the United States are vain and unfounded.
A spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of Germany tried to reiterate anti-Iran stance under the guise of so-called human rights issues and the accusation that the Islamic Republic involves in the Ukraine war. The spokesperson said that Berlin agrees the United States’ decision to shift concentration from the Vienna talks on the revival of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal to internal affairs of the Islamic country.
