Kyrgyzstan plans to open JV with India to develop railway corridor

Bishkek, Nov. 22, 2022. /Kabar/. In order to develop cooperation between Kyrgyzindustria JSC and the Indian company Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (hereinafter - RVNL), a delegation of Kyrgyzindustria, headed by President Zh. Abduraimov, traveled to India. The members of the delegation met with Chairman and Managing Director Shri Pradeep Gaur and Project Director Shri Vinai Singh, got acquainted with the work on the construction of tunnels 6-7 km long for a new railway line from Rishikesh to Karnaprayag. In order to develop the railway corridor in the Kyrgyz Republic, it is planned to sign an Agreement on the opening of a joint venture between Kyrgyzindustry OJSC and an Indian company in the near future. RVNL is a transport network and communications development enterprise of the Government of India under the Ministry of Railways of India. Established on January 24, 2003, it is one of the leading companies in India. The State Enterprises Department of India has awarded RVNL an "Excellent" rating for 9 consecutive years. RVNL has also ranked 1st among railway companies in India 4 times in the past 5 years. The company's turnover for the 2019-2020 financial year increased by 44.44%.
