GCC and Yemen Foreign Ministers Hold Joint Meeting 4 Riyadh
The Foreign Ministers took the necessary steps on the following:
- Joint Technical Committee shall intensify its efforts to
accelerate the implementation of projects and programs in accordance
with the specified time and setting of development needs of the
Republic of Yemen for the Fourth Development Plan 2011-2015 to
achieve Yemen's comprehensive development in economic and social
aspects and the integration of Yemen in the economies of the Gulf
Cooperation Council.
- Giving priority to programs designed to qualify Yemeni
laborers through increasing the rate of funding programs of technical
education and training.
- The Council of Ministers of Labor and Social Affairs of
the GCC shall study the appropriate mechanisms to increase the
participation of Yemeni workers in the labor market in the GCC
countries.
- Providing technical and financial support for the Special Unit of
the GCC projects that has been established at the Ministry of
Planning and International Cooperation in Yemen.
- Developing mechanisms to promote investment of the GCC private
sectors in Yemen, and urging Yemeni and GCC Chambers of Commerce and
Federation of GCC Chambers on promoting partnership between
businessmen of the two sides.
The Ministers decided to continue coordination and consultation
between the Republic of Yemen and the GCC states to strengthen their
relations and deepen partnership between the two sides in all areas.
The foreign ministers welcomed the invitation of the Minister for
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen to hold their next joint
coordination meeting of the Ministerial Council in Yemen during the
first quarter of 2010.
