President Sadyr Zhaparov meets with Hungarian PM Viktor Orban

Bishkek, Nov. 11, 2022. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban in Samarkand city of Uzbekistan. The topical areas of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian bilateral cooperation, the prospects for their further expansion were discussed at the meeting. The leaders of the countries also discussed issues of cooperation in the transport, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Sadyr Zhaparov noted that he was glad to meet with Viktor Orban and highly appreciates cooperation with Hungary, which is a brotherly country and a strategic partner for Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz president emphasized that diplomatic relations between the two countries have reached a high level, but at the same time there is a significant potential for bringing them to a new level. He also noted the strengthening of economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary, outlining the work of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, within which the implementation of specific business projects totaling USD 24 million is currently planned. In addition, Sadyr Zhaparov expressed his deep gratitude to the Hungarian side for creating conditions for the education of Kyrgyz students in Budapest. Sadyr Zhaparov invited Viktor Orban and Hungarian President Katalina Novak to visit Kyrgyzstan at a convenient time, expressing confidence that these events will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. The Hungarian PM, in turn, stressed that face-to-face meetings of the leaders give a good impetus to the development of bilateral relations, recalling that at the moment mutual visits at the highest level are being considered. He noted that Kyrgyzstan and Hungary are fraternal countries with common historical roots, expressing the interest of the Hungarian side to invest in Kyrgyzstan. Viktor Orban added that Hungary sees positive results in the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan under the leadership of Sadyr Zhaparov. The prime minister of Hungary drew attention to the great opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries, which have not yet been fully used. He emphasized the importance of taking practical measures in the field of economic cooperation, citing as an example one of the priority issues - the need to open a direct flight between countries. Sadyr Zhaparov and Viktor Orban also agreed to continue active cooperation to build up bilateral relations for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
