Unemployment decrease observed in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Nov. 9, 2022. /Kabar/. The unemployment rate in Kyrgyzstan fell by 4% over the past year. The data for the last ten years was published by the National Statistical Committee. A downward trend has been observed since 2012, when the number of unemployed citizens of working age in the republic was 207.9 thousand. In seven years, their number has decreased by almost 33%, to 140 thousand people. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the figure increased by 6% and amounted to 148.2 thousand people. With the restoration of the economic activity of enterprises, the number of unemployed citizens began to decrease again, amounting to 141.6 thousand people by the end of 2021. According to the results of last year, most of them are men - 77.4 thousand.
