Iraqi president visits Hakim in Tehran hospital

Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani visited head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC) Abdul Aziz Hakim in a Tehran hospital on Sunday.

Talabani’s unofficial visit to Iran takes place with the sole objective of calling on the Iraqi cleric who is receiving medical care here for lung cancer.

Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki came to Tehran to call on Hakim.
