UN General Assembly declares document on mountain development initiated by Kyrgyzstan as its official document

Bishkek, Oct. 18, 2022. /Kabar/. At the initiative of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, on September 19, 2022, a High-Level Meeting on Sustainable Mountain Development was held in New York, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported. This event has become one of the most important events of the current International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development, declared by the UN General Assembly at the proposal of Kyrgyzstan. As a result of the meeting, the states that are members of the Group of Friends of Mountain Countries adopted a statement. At the request of Kyrgyzstan, the UN General Assembly declared the final document of the High-Level Meeting on Sustainable Mountain Development its official document.
