President Sadyr Zhaparov leaves for Uzbekistan to attend SCO Summit

Bishkek, Sept. 14, 2022. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov left for a working visit to Uzbekistan, Samarkand city to participate in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). On the margins of the Summit, President Zhaparov will hold a number of bilateral meetings at the highest level. The official delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic includes of: Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev; Head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Muratbek Azymbakiev; Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan Musa Jamanbaev; Minister of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic Erkinbek Osoev; Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev. The SCO Summit will be held under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan. The SCO was founded in 2001 by Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in Shanghai. It is an organisation that focuses mainly on regional security issues and development. India became an observer at the SCO in 2005 and gained membership in 2017, along with Pakistan. Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia have the status of observer countries of the organization, while Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka act as partners.
