Kyrgyzstan harvests 6% more grain crops than last year

Bishkek, Sept. 13, 2022. / Kabar /. Favorable weather conditions contributed to the increase in crop yields, according to the National Statistical Committee.
As of Aug. 23 of the current year, grain crops (without legumes, rice and buckwheat) were harvested from an area of 403 thousand hectares, which is 6% more compared to the same period last year, and more than one million tons of grain or 2 times were harvested more.
The harvested area of grain crops in the country amounted to about 70% in relation to the harvested area, including in the farms of Chui region - 83%, Batken - 71% and Osh region - 70% of the area.
Compared to the same period last year, the gross harvest of barley (by 2.6 times), wheat (by 2 times), oilseeds (by 10 percent) and fruit and berry crops (by 7%) has significantly increased.
