Kyrgyzstan to mark National Cleanup Day

Bishkek, Sept. 7, 2022 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov signed the Decree “On the National Cleanup Day and the Action Plan for the creation of an effective infrastructure for the management of household waste for the period 2023-2025”.
Every year on the third Saturday of September, many countries around the world host the World Cleanup Day - an environmental action to unite the efforts of the general public, the media, government and business structures to clean up areas of garbage and maintain sustainable cleanliness.
As part of this civil action, mass cleanup actions and educational events are held, in which everyone can take part. The emphasis is made on cleaning up natural areas (forests, glades, banks of water bodies), and when collecting garbage, separate collection of waste is organized where possible. In addition, the organizers of the action conduct educational campaigns, promote a modern waste management system, separate collection and recycling, an eco-friendly lifestyle, reducing the personal and public eco-footprint and sustainable development.
It is noted that in the past few years, environmental campaigns have also been held in the country as part of the World Cleanup Day.
