Iran-Iraq sign MoU on housing and road construction


Iran’s Minister of Housing and Urban Planning and his Iraqi counterpart signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on housing and road construction here on Tuesday.

Iraqi Minister of Construction and Housing Bayan Dizayee, after the signing ceremony, in a joint press conference, said that Iran’s Housing Ministry is to execute four road construction projects as well as a residential complex with 600 housing units.
She said that two road projects are in northern Iraq and the two others are in central part of the country.
She added these projects are financed by a one billion dollar loan allocated by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Iran's Minister of Housing and Urban Planning Mohammad Saeedi-Kia expressed Iran readiness to start its work on the projects as soon as the problem for land can be solved there.
Meanwhile, the minister expressed Iran’s readiness for transferring experiences in the fields of construction, materials as well as law and regulations concerning building construction to Iraq.
