Settlements in national currencies discussed at meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council

Cholpon-Ata, Aug. 26, 2022. / Kabar /. “We discussed the most pressing topic of today's realities - the development of the use of national currencies in mutual trade,” Akylbek Zhaparov, head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers told at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Kyrgyzstan. He said that the heads of government of the EAEU members discussed in detail the key areas for the development of settlements in national currencies, as well as indicators of their achievement. Determined the necessary recommendations on the issues of ensuring mutual acceptance of national payment cards of the EAEU member states, development of settlements using correspondent accounts, with a consistent increase in the share of national currencies in mutual settlements, unhindered transfer of financial information between the EAEU member states, development of exchange trading in currency pairs of national currencies of states members of the organization. “I am sure that the implementation of these recommendations will have a positive effect in increasing the stability of national economies and the macroeconomic stability of our integration,” Zhaparov said.
