Meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council starts in Kyrgyzstan in expanded format

Cholpon-Ata, Aug. 26, 2022. / Kabar /. Meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in an expanded format, chaired by head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov, has began in Kyrgyzstan’s Cholpon-Ataresort town. The meeting is attended by Prime Ministers of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Belarus Roman Golovchenko, Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin, and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich. In addition, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov is participating as a guest and Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov as an observer. During the meeting, the heads of state will consider: - Progress in the preparation of the international agreement "On the Formation of a Common Gas Market" - Amendments to the agreement "On the Union" regarding the collection of indirect taxes on electronic commerce of goods sold by individuals; - A list of promising, integration, infrastructure projects of the countries of the union, in particular in the field of transport; - The issue of expanding the use of the national currency in the implementation of settlements in the framework of mutual trade; - Report of the Eurasian Economic Commission "On the progress of work on the creation and implementation of mechanisms for financing industrial cooperation in the union" and "On the progress of work on an agreement on the regulation of the alcohol market in the EAEU". In addition, as part of promoting economic growth and expanding mutual and external trade and economic ties, it is planned to sign a draft agreement “On the establishment of a Eurasian reinsurance company”.
