Kyrgyz Cabinet chairman discusses with WB country manager organization of Bishkek Economic Forum

Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2022 / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met with the World Bank Country Manager for the Kyrgyz Republic Naveed Hassan Naqvi. During the meeting, topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of economy, energy, healthcare, digitalization, water and land resources were discussed. The sides also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov to Washington (United States of America) as part of participation in the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. Naveed Hassan Naqvi informed the Kyrgyz Cabinet chairman about the upcoming Bishkek Economic Forum, as well as the visit of the World Bank's Managing Director for Operations, Axel von Trotsenburg. The head of the World Bank office in the Kyrgyz Republic also said that a Strategic Partnership Framework Agreement for a five-year period is currently being prepared and is planned to be presented to the Kyrgyz side in the first quarter of 2023. In turn, the chairman of the Cabinet expressed his readiness to assist in organizing the upcoming forum at the highest level. “We will make every effort to hold the Bishkek Economic Forum at the proper organizational level. There is little time left, all relevant state bodies will be involved in the work,” Akylbek Zhaparov concluded.
