4th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian co-op between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan held in Baku

Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2022 / Kabar /. Baku hosted the 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev and Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmedov.
During the meeting, issues related to cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, transport and logistics areas, in the field of agriculture and food security, as well as labor, social and migration sectors were considered.
Bakyt Torobaev noted that in order to expand trade, economic and investment relations between the two countries, it is necessary to take appropriate measures that could help increase the volume of bilateral trade.
Ali Ahmedov, for his part, expressed the readiness of the Azerbaijani side for comprehensive cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic.
The sides discussed the implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 19-20 this year, as well as the content of the return state visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Kyrgyz Republic.
The deputy heads of government of the two countries expressed their interest in establishing the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Development Fund, which will serve as a powerful impetus for intensifying and expanding cooperation in the investment field, strengthening business ties and developing small and medium-sized businesses.
In addition, an agreement was reached to prepare for the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2023 a draft Five-Year Comprehensive Program for the Development of Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Following the meeting, the sides signed the final Protocol.
