Kyrgyzstan to improve food safety with KOICA’s help

Bishkek, Aug. 15, 2022 / Kabar /. Food safety will be improved in Kyrgyzstan with the help of the Korean agency for international cooperation (KOICA), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
The Ministry of Agriculture signed a protocol of discussion of the project “Improving the safety of food of animal origin by creating an integrated intelligent system for identifying and tracking animals in the Kyrgyz Republic” with KOICA.
During the meeting Minister of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov noted the fruitful cooperation of the executive authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Republic of Korea, in particular, active cooperation with KOICA.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Murat Baidyldaev said that thanks to the cooperation of KOICA with the ministry in the field of agriculture, forestry, regional development and organic agriculture, projects totaling USD 26 million 741 thousand have been implemented and are being implemented.
“The signing of this protocol will give an incentive to improve the quality and safety of food products of animal origin, increase the export potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, build laboratory capacity, improve animal health, as well as protect the territory of the republic from infection and the spread of infectious animal diseases,” Dzhanybekov said.
