Iranian official, Syrian minister confer


Iran’s Roads and Transportation Deputy Minister Hassan Ziari held talks with Syrian Transport Minister Yaroub Suleiman Bader in Damascus, Syria, late Monday.

The two sides called for boost in transport of goods and passengers.

Expressing satisfaction with the current level of railway connection between Tehran and Damascus, Ziari hailed expansion of ties in the field of transportation among Iran, Syria, Iraq and Turkey.

Referring to the Railway Regional Summit which was held in Damascus on Sunday (June 1), the Iranian official said some important issues were reviewed in the field of transportation in the event.

Bader, for his part, underscored that expansion of cooperation among Iran, Syria, Iraq and Turkey is beneficial for the region.

Referring to the importance of transportation in the today’s economy, Bader expressed hope that Iran railway could reach Syria via Iraq in near future.
