Painting exhibit underway at Tehran Contemporary Arts Museum

Rarely-seen paintings of world's august artists are on display at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA).

The collection of paintings by some of the world's prominent artists from the 1880s to the 1970s are on display concurrently with the said event during the month-long show.

The show opened on May 27.

In 2005, some of the paintings from the collection were put on display for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in a exhibit called 'Modern Art Movement'.

Works by Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Paul Gauguin are on display in the show.
