Arab investors to allocate USD 100 mln for development of education in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Aug. 5, 2022 ./Kabar/. Arab investors will allocate $100 million for the development of education in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan said. At the 4th meeting of the Arab Coordination Group, Education Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Beishenaliev reached an agreement to obtain financial support for the development of education. Members of the Arab Coordination Group discussed participation in the implementation of the National Development Program of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2026, in particular the development of education. “In accordance with agreements reached, Kyrgyzstan is eligible for a grant of $15 million and a loan of $85 million," the report said. The grant will be directed to improve the quality of education and the provision of textbooks. In turn, part of the loan from the Islamic Development Bank, Abu Dhabi Development Fund and other members of AKG will be used to build kindergartens, the other part - to build schools. As a result, 45 thousand children will be enrolled in pre-school education, another 45 thousand children will be able to go to new schools and 3 thousand educators and teachers will be provided with jobs.
