Kyrgyz FM, GCC Secretary General sign MoU

Bishkek, Aug. 3, 2022. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev and Secretary General of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
After signing the document, the Kyrgyz minister noted that during the first visit of the GCC secretary general bilateral talks were held on topical issues of cooperation.
"A joint plan of activities in the framework of political, socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation was considered. In addition, the issue of establishing a coordination council at the highest level, the establishment of bilateral relations, the strengthening of regional ties, international and regional security was touched upon," Kulubaev said.
The foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan also highlighted the signed memorandum.
"I sincerely believe that the memorandum will be an impetus for the development and strengthening of bilateral relations in all spheres of life," Kulubaev summed up.
In turn, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf noted an interest in establishing and strengthening contacts with Central Asia, including Kyrgyzstan.
"I hope the agreement will become a new stage of cooperation in priority areas, namely economic, investment, food security and tourism," Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf said.
The GCC secretary general also plans to visit several Central Asian countries - Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Kyrgyzstan is third on the list after Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. At the end of his visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf said will leave for Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
