Sown area in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1278.4 thsd ha this year

As of Jan. 1, 2022 the total sown area in the country makes 1278.4 thousand hectares, Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov said at a press conference in Bishkek. As a result of spring field work in 2022, crops were sown on an area of 1228.8 thousand hectares, or 2.6 thousand hectares more than the same period in 2021. "The undeveloped area of land was 49.6 thousand hectares, or decreased by 4.1 thousand hectares in comparison with 2021. The need to provide mineral fertilizers was 276.7 thousand tons, 88.2 thousand tons were supplied as of June 30, or 31.8% of the need," the minister said.
