Iran’s Golestan, Russia’s Astrakhan to boost cooperation

The deputy governor of the northern Iranian province of Golestan said Sunday Golestan and Astrakhan region in Russia enjoy growing cooperation.

Abbas Niavand told IRNA the bilateral cooperation would contribute to the establishment of peace and stability in the region.

He opined that the bilateral cultural and economic ties will prepare ground for fostering cooperation between the public and private sectors in the two regions.

Niavand said the political and economic relations between the two regions will deepen the friendly ties between the two neighboring states of Iran and Russia too.

The deputy provincial governor said Iran’s northern provinces are suitable regions for investment and trade with the Caspian Sea littoral states.

Expressing his appreciation for signing an agreement on cooperation between Golestan and Astrakhan, Niavand hoped it will lead to further progress in both the regions.
