Construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad is unique project: Akylbek Zhaparov

The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan (CKU) railroad construction project is a unique project that requires special priority, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akybek Zhaparov said during a working meeting on Tuesday, the press service of the Cabinet reported. During the meeting, Minister of Transport and Communications Erkinbek Osoev provided information on the issues of the railroad construction. He outlined a preliminary route for the construction of the road, which could run along the Torugart-Makmal-Jalal-Abad route. Development of appropriate feasibility study of the project will be completed in December of this year. "The CKU railroad construction project is a unique project, the implementation of which we give special priority. Relevant state bodies should carry out the necessary preparatory work in due time," the head of the Kyrgyz Cabinet added. The meeting also discussed construction of other infrastructure projects. China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railroad - projected railroad mainline, designed to connect the railroads of the three countries and further the countries of the Persian Gulf, Turkey with the European railroad network.
