Norway peace research institute welcomes cooperation with Iran
Norway International Institute for Peace Research (PRIO) welcomed research and investigation cooperation with Iran.
In a meeting between Iran’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Press and Information affairs Alireza Malekian, who is in Norway, and Director of PRIO Austin Tunssen, the two sides discussed ways of developing bilateral cooperation in the fields of media and peace.
According to the report of Iran’s embassy in Oslo, Tunssen by referring to the vast communication of PRIO with scientific and research centers in Iran, expressed his organization's readiness for implementing joint projects with Iran.
Malekian explained situations of Iranian research institutes both in private and public sectors and expressed hope that Norwegian research and scientific centers can use opportunities for cooperation with Iranian bodies.
The Norwegian side welcomed bilateral cooperation offer and underlined his institute's readiness for executing different projects upon Iran’s order and asked the Iranian side to facilitate necessary conditions for PRIO to attend Tehran’s Press Exhibition.
PRIO tries to promote world peace through interaction with world elites.
Currently, it has 70 members who are all leading and well known academic researchers.
Malekian, heading a media delegation, is paying a visit to Norway and discussing issues of mutual interest with a number of senior officials in cultural and media fields.
