Kyrgyz, Kazakh speakers discuss expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation

Bishkek, June 24, 2022. /Kabar/. Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov met on Thursday with his Kazakh counterpart Yerlan Koshanov.
The meeting focused on intensifying political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations and expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Talant Mamytov emphasized that this year Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
"We have common historical ties, culture, language and traditions. For centuries, the Kyrgyz and Kazakh peoples have lived in harmony and peace, we need to continue to strengthen and maintain brotherly and friendly relations," he said.
The Kyrgyz speaker indicated that the main goal of bilateral cooperation should be to strengthen trade and economic ties.
Yerlan Koshanov noted the high level of cooperation between the two republics. He stressed that there is great potential for further development of interstate and interparliamentary relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The Kazakh speaker also invited Talant Mamytov to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.
Cholpon-Ata town of Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul Oblast will host on Friday the XI plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic Speaking Countries (TurkPA).
Within the framework of the event, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with heads of parliamentary delegations.
