Bishkek, June 20, 2022. / Kabar /. More than 100 young specialists were accepted for internships at Kumtor Gold Company CJSC in 2022, the company's press service reported.
This year, Kumtor Gold Company once again received a record number of applications for participation in internship programs for university graduates and summer internship programs for students. From January 2022 to the present day, 74 young specialists have been accepted for internships at company. After tests and interviews, about 30 more interns will come to the company. 43 students have been recruited for summer practice this year, 8 more trainees will join their ranks in the near future, the report said.
After the transfer of the field to the jurisdiction of Kyrgyzstan, on behalf of President of the National Holding Company "Heritage of the Great Nomads" Tengiz Bolturuk, programs were launched for targeted training of specialists. From July 2021 to the present, 166 university graduates have been admitted to the company for a two-year internship. Of these, 26 interns, who have proven themselves as specialized specialists, have already been enrolled in the staff. Another 80 students passed three-month practice last year.
“Getting to Kumtor was my dream. Lectures and seminars do not give the knowledge that I received at the current production,” said Argen Elebesov, an intern at KGC's environmental protection department.
Work with youth pursues two important strategic goals - increasing the prestige of blue-collar workers and turning Kumtor into a source of personnel for the mining industry in Kyrgyzstan. In the future, the trainees, who today are taking their first steps in the profession, will form a personnel reserve of specialists for the development of new Kyrgyz fields.
