Lithuanian transit companies interested in attracting drivers from Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 17, 2022. /Kabar/. Lithuanian transit companies are interested in new personnel in the form of drivers from Kyrgyzstan and are ready to help with educational programs, Andrius Burba, the Secretary for Innovation and Transport Policy of the Linava National Road Carriers Association (Lithuania) said during the Lithuanian-Kyrgyz Business Forum. He noted that currently there is a lack of half a million drivers in Europe, and 22 million drivers worldwide. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan reported that during the forum, Lithuanian business expressed interest in supplying steel products, oil products, fertilizers, grain crops, cotton, feed additives, fabric, chemistry for light and other industries from Kyrgyzstan. "In turn, Lithuania is ready to export diesel locomotives, auto compressors, wastewater treatment equipment, food, pharmaceuticals, advice on fish farming and modern agricultural technology, as well as solar technology," the report said. Lithuania is one of the leaders in Europe in transport and logistics services, having a developed system of all types of transport from rail (narrow gauge, wide gauge) to sea, which gives the opportunity to enter the main markets of Northern and Western Europe, as well as Asia. The biggest in the EU automotive company Girteka has more than 10 thousand cars, and the sea port of Klaipeda, which does not freeze, is the leader in the Baltic countries, handling more than 65 million tons of cargo a year. Besides, Lithuanian companies are ready to provide all customs services for international carriers, including on-line. During the forum a memorandum was signed between the Association of International Automobile Carriers of the Kyrgyz Republic AMAP KR and Linava Lithuanian National Association of Road Carriers.
