Kyrgyzstan’s culture minister takes part in first meeting of ministers of sports of SCO member states

Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan Azamat Zhamankulov took part in the first meeting of the ministers of sports of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states. According to the press service of the ministry, the meeting was held in Tashkent from May 19 to 21. The sides discussed further development of cooperation in the field of sports development in modern conditions, prospects for implementing joint projects in the production of sports equipment, clothing and equipment, popularization of national and ethnic sports within the SCO, as well as support for international sports tourism, the report said. In addition, they also discussed the exchange of experience in promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population, the implementation of large-scale projects to involve the younger generation in sports. At the same time, during the meeting, it was noted that in the field of sports, in particular, in the city of Kunming, China, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, SCO marathons are regularly held and at the highest level, the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasized. As a result of the meeting, it was decided to hold the next meeting of SCO sports ministers in India in 2023.
