Speaker Mamytov joins opening of First Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian Countries and Russian

Bishkek, May 12, 2022. /Kabar/. A delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh led by Speaker Talant Mamytov took part in the opening ceremony of the First Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian Countries and Russia, held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The press service of the Kyrgyz Parliament reported that the event was opened by Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who stressed the importance of the forum for further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation. In turn, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh Talant Mamytov congratulated the people of Turkmenistan on the successful holding of early presidential elections on March 12 this year and wished prosperity to the brotherly country. He also noted that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to cooperation with Russia and Central Asian countries. Mamytov reminded that cooperation between Central Asian countries and Russia develops in bilateral and multilateral formats, the countries of the region are member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, some of them participate together with Russia in the EAEU, CSTO, SCO. "Cooperation between Central Asian states and Russia is traditionally maintained at a high level of political interaction and on a wide range of issues: both political, trade and economic, investment, transport and transit cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian plan. Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development and strengthening of the established friendly relations in the region," Mamytov said. The speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament also stressed the important role of the parliaments in the development of interstate relations.
