Sadyr Zhaparov meets with AFC President

Bishkek, May 10, 2022 /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov met on Tuesday with President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, his press service said.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on effective cooperation for the development of football in Kyrgyzstan and the further popularization of the sport in the country.
The Kyrgyz president expressed hope that the AFC president's visit will bring good results and will bring Kyrgyz football to a new level.
Zhaparov, expressing his gratitude to Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa for his support of initiatives of the Kyrgyz Football Union, noted the dynamic development of football in Asia and the significant contribution of the AFC president to this.
"The Asian Football Confederation is a force uniting football federations of the Asian continent and a bridge between them. Football plays an important role in the life of society," Zhaparov said, stressing that this kind of sport is also popular in Kyrgyzstan.
The president noted that last year Kyrgyzstan celebrated the 100th anniversary of football and held a friendly tournament, after which it was decided to hold such a tournament on a traditional basis twice a year. Last week, the traditional football tournament Muras was successfully held.
AFC President Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa thanked the Kyrgyz side for its support of football, expressing confidence in further deepening cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
He stressed that the development of football in Kyrgyzstan on the Asian continent is a good example.
"Kyrgyz football has been developing well in recent years. The Kyrgyz team has achieved good results," the AFC president said.
Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa also expressed gratitude to Sadyr Zhaparov for his personal support in the development of football in the country and holding group round matches of the Asian Cup qualifying tournament in Kyrgyzstan.
