Strategic directions of Kyrgyzstan’s economic development discussed with EIB Mission

Bishkek, April 30, 2022 . /Kabar/. The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan hosted meeting between Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev and the European Investment Bank (EIB) mission, led by Adam Bruun. During the meeting, the sides discussed the strategic directions of economic development of the country with a focus on projects in the field of green economy, the Economy Ministry said. The mission of the Bank informed about the prospects for bilateral financial and technical cooperation in the near future, in particular, that the conditions of the Bank are the most competitive and attractive in the global market. The Mission also expressed readiness to open a regional office of the Bank in Central Asia, noting the launch of lending in the sectors of water supply, agriculture. In turn, Daniyar Amangeldiev expressed gratitude to the governments of the European Union for their assistance in the socio-economic development of the republic, as well as informed about the planned and ongoing reforms in strategic planning, taxation and public finance. During the meeting, proposals were also voiced for financing projects of country significance, in particular in the field of energy, industry, transport and logistics. At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further fruitful cooperation. The European Investment Bank is a large bank, established by the EU member states, with an annual loan portfolio of EUR 70 billion.
