Bishkek, April 26, 2022. / Kabar /. Bishkek city is hosting on Tuesday the presentation of the "Financial Inclusion Strategy for 2022-2026”, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan on March 18, 2022.
The event is attended by Head of the Department of Political and Economic Research of the Presidential Administration Almaz Isanov, representatives of state institutions, heads of commercial banks, non-banking financial-credit organizations, international organizations, academic and expert communities.
Kyrgyzstan is launching the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS), aimed at making financial services more accessible, efficient and economically attractive for households and businesses in the country.
NFIS strategies, supported by the World Bank Group, offer countries a roadmap of activities to achieve the national goals for financial inclusion. These activities involve coordinating efforts with key stakeholders, defining responsibilities, and helping to plan resources. In this way, these strategies help to promote financial inclusion more effectively and efficiently.
The Kyrgyz Republic joined 30+ countries in launching its National Financial Inclusion Strategy, which has been made possible by efforts of a range of stakeholders, led by the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan and supported by the IFC Central Asia Financial Inclusion Project, which provided comprehensive research and consultation with key stakeholders.
The NFIS will be implemented by the Coordination Council, established in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
