Machine building and light industry may become main branches of industrial production in Central Asia, Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, head of the Kyrgyz delegation at the INNORPROM. Central Asia International Industrial Fair Daniyar Amangeldiev told during the plenary session "Central Asia: The Space of Technological Breakthrough" of the fair, which is taking place in Tashkent these days. The main branches of industrial production based in the Central Asian region could be: - mechanical engineering, which would provide the entire Eurasian continent with spare parts, machinery and necessary equipment; - light industry in order to maintain the existing trade and economic balance of the region, Kyrgyzstan proposes to consider the possibility of creating joint ventures and cooperation for mutually beneficial cooperation in the light industry. The minister also added that in order to ensure increased production by creating production chains, it is necessary to remove all existing barriers, which will contribute to mutually beneficial effective development. Perhaps, it will be zero customs duties, simplification of border crossing and other measures. “There is also an intention to create a cotton cluster in Jalal-Abad Oblast by setting up a cotton-cleaning factory, a yarn production plant, a textile factory and a machine-tractor park, and also a butter production plant on an area of 20 hectares, with the participation of Uzbek and Kyrgyz enterprises. All efforts should be made to ensure that these intentions are realized,” the head of the Kyrgyz delegation said. Amangeldiev noted the need to establish pharmaceutical production of domestic medicines to ensure the domestic market of Central Asia and countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), it is also planned to launch a joint project for the production of latex gloves in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. At the end of his speech, the minister reported on the need to systematically move and work hard on one of the important tools of sustainable development, that is, the active implementation of an inclusive green economy and carbon reduction, including with the participation of the private sector. “The state industrial policy of the Kyrgyz Republic today is aimed at achieving sustainable development of industry, ensuring the growth of its share in the gross domestic product, increasing export potential, ensuring the competitiveness of Kyrgyz industrial products in the EAEU markets. The first DEFINDEX International Military-Industrial Exhibition is planned to be held in Bishkek in October 2022. The main result of this exhibition is expected to be expansion of sales markets, activation of business processes and new business partnerships for each of its participants,” concluded the minister of economy of Kyrgyzstan.
