Korea includes Kyrgyzstan in list of priority countries for receiving official development assistance

Deputy Minister Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Kanat Abdrakhmanov met with head of the Representative Office of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in the Kyrgyz Republic, Lee Jong-soo, the press service of the Kyrgyz ministry reported. During the meeting, the deputy minister thanked the Korea International Cooperation Agency for the assistance provided in the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, and also informed about the ratification of the Additional Agreement to the Framework Agreement on gratuitous assistance between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea, signed on December 9, 2020 in Bishkek , and expressed readiness to provide comprehensive assistance for the full-fledged work of the KOICA Office in the Kyrgyz Republic. In turn, Lee Jong-soo noted the readiness of KOICA to support the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of regions, agriculture and digitalization projects. At the same time, Lee Jong-soo said that the Korean government included Kyrgyzstan in the list of priority countries for receiving official development assistance from the Government of the Republic of Korea for the next five years. In addition, the sides discussed the priority areas of KOICA projects, and the collection of new project proposals for 2024. The sides also agreed to further increase bilateral cooperation, develop and implement new joint projects.
