China closes border with Kyrgyzstan for one day - Border Service

Bishkek, April 4, 2022. / Kabar /. The Torugart and Irkeshtam checkpoints, located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border, will temporarily suspend the passage of vehicles and goods on April 5. The press service of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic said thatthe closure was initiated by the Chinese side in connection with the Qingming Festival (Commemoration Day). The checkpoints will resume operation on April 6, 2022 according to the previously approved algorithm, which provides only for the movement of goods and cargo across the border.
