Possibility of using Gwadar Port for exports of Kyrgyz products to world markets discussed

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev discussed with Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Sadiq Sanjrani the possibility of using Gwadar Port for the export of Kyrgyz products to world markets, as well as the transit capacity of Kyrgyzstan to deliver Pakistani products to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) market. The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that the meeting of the Kyrgyz minister and the Pakistan chairman was held on the margins o the 48th session of the OIC Ministerial Council in Islamabad. During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on topical issues of Kyrgyz-Pakistani inter-parliamentary cooperation, in particular discussed the conduct of mutual visits and stressed the need to intensify contacts between the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan and the Senate of Pakistan. "They also noted the importance of intensifying trade and economic relations between the countries and the transit capacity of Kyrgyzstan for the supply of Pakistani products to the EAEU market," the report said. In addition, in order to deepen and expand inter-parliamentary cooperation, the head of the Pakistani Senate invited Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Talant Mamytov to visit Pakistan in the near future. In turn, Kazakbaev stressed the interest of the Kyrgyz side in strengthening Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations in all areas of cooperation, and briefed the Pakistani side on the political changes that have occurred in Kyrgyzstan recently.
