Sharp rise in price will not occur in Kyrgyzstan: Economy Ministry

Bishkek, March 23, 2022. / Kabar /. There will be no sharp increase in price in Kyrgyzstan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the country Eldar Alisherov told during a briefing in Bishkek. He noted that prices are rising now mainly for food and petroleum products, growth is expected to continue. However, the deputy minister ruled out a spike. "The spike will not be spontaneous, that is, prices won't rise sharply by 50%. We will enter negotiations for the supply of goods at more restrained prices, so there will be no import of inflation," said Alisherov. The deputy minister also noted that otherwise the regulatory policy will be applied, as well as an active fight against speculation. "We have similar experience, we went through such a situation in 2020. But so far we have not seen a speculative rise in prices," the official added.
