Paraguay ready to boost ties with Iran: minister
Paraguay’s Foreign Minister Hector Lacognata said that his government is seriously determined to boost all-out ties with Iran.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s non-resident ambassador to Paraguay Morteza Tafreshi.
Referring to the Islamic Republic of Iran as cradle of civilization, the Paraguayan foreign minister said cooperation with Iran would be in line with his country’s interest.
Lauding Iran’s independence campaign, he said the Islamic Republic is the friend of all Latin American states.
He called for inking more agreements on economic cooperation between the two states.
Lacognata also underscored the need for participation of Iranian companies in various economic and trade projects in his country.
The Iranian ambassador said for his part that Iran and Latin American states share identical views on resistance to the Arrogant and Imperialist powers.
Tehran is very much interested in expansion of ties with Latin American states, Paraguay in particular, he added.
