Outflow of direct foreign investments from Kyrgyzstan decrease by 2.1 times

Bishkek, March 11, 2022 . / Kabar / . The outflow of foreign direct investment in 2021 decreased by 2.1 times compared to 2020, and amounted to $450.9 million.
The National Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan reported that compared with 2020, the outflow of all components in the structure of foreign direct investment decline, except for equity, which increased by 39.0%.
The main outflow of foreign direct investment (about 87%) was observed from manufacturing, exploration, transport activities and cargo storage, as well as wholesale and retail trade.
The outflow of direct foreign investments in the countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in comparison with 2020 decreased by 2.2 times, mainly due to their reduction in the Republic of Korea by 24 times, Germany - by 14.6 times, Switzerland - by 5.4 times, China - by 4.1 times, the UK - by 3.8 times and Turkey - by 10.3%. At the same time, the outflow of investment in Canada increased 19.2 times, and in the Netherlands - 3.9 times.
China (31.8%), Canada (27.3%), Turkey (9.1%) and the UK (4.6%) account for the biggest share in the total volume of the outflow of foreign direct investments.
The outflow of direct foreign investments to CIS countries decreased 1.5 times at the expense of the reduction of the outflow of investments to Kazakhstan (by 2.4 times) and Russia (by 26.3%).
