Businessmen from Saudi Arabia interested in investing in energy sector of Kyrgyzstan

Businessmen from Saudi Arabia showed interest in investing in the energy sector of Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said. Kyrgyz Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ulukbek Maripov met in Riyadh with Hisham Mohammed Al-Sharif, Vice President of the group of Saudi holdings Ajlan and Brothers. During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities and prospects for mutually beneficial business and investment cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Sharif expressed interest in exploring the renewable energy and energy industry sector in the Kyrgyz Republic for long-term investment, the press service said. Maripov also focused on the fact that at present the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Cabinet of Ministers are actively working to improve the investment climate in the country, create a favorable business environment and improve legal mechanisms to protect the interests of domestic and foreign investors. At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Maripov called on the Ajlan and Brothers group to take an active part in the upcoming Kyrgyz-Saudi business forum and exhibition-fair in Riyadh on February 24-27.
