Mottaki warns of plots to divide Muslims

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki warned of enemies’ constant plots to divide the world of Islam.

“Unfortunately, certain countries have a long record in this regard and the claims raised in the world of Islam, especially our region, over the past years have fanned the crisis. Enemies try to pit regional nations against each other; so, we should devise appropriate and timely plans to avoid such moves,” Mottaki told reporters here in northern country on Friday.

He said the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, relying on traditions of the holy Prophet, has been successful in uniting Shiites, Sunnis and different ethnic groups.

He added that unfortunately, certain Arab leaders and intellectuals were defining the plots, so we should try to confront them.
