Iraq And Pakistan Discuss The Resumption Of Direct Flights Between Them
Baghdad / NINA / - The Ministry of Transport announced, on Sunday, that Iraq and Pakistan are discussing the resumption of direct flights between the two countries.
A statement by the ministry stated that the transport represented by the management of the General Company for Iraqi Airways discussed with the Pakistani Ambassador Ahmed Amjad Ali, in the presence of the directors of the concerned departments, the file of resuming the flights between Iraq and Pakistan, and that the second of next February was set as the date for the first flights and be scheduled by two flights per week from Baghdad and Najaf international airports to Pakistan and vice versa.
The company indicated that the meeting, which was held at its headquarters inside Baghdad International Airport, came according to the directives of the Minister of Transport, Captain Nasser Hussein Al-Shibli, to discuss all the procedures and facilities that can be provided by both sides to facilitate the movement of passengers as well as activate the commercial movement between the two countries.
For his part, the Pakistani ambassador affirmed his full support for the Iraqi Airways Company to restart this line, provided that coordination with the Iraqi embassy in Pakistan is done and notified of the date of the first flight. /End
