PM Dung urges Japan to finalise procedures for EPA
Tokyo (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung urged Japan to finalise the
procedures for the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) signed between the two
countries to come into effect, thus bringing in a wide range of practical benefits
to both parties.
PM Dung made the remark while receiving Japanese Senator Nakamura Hirohiko on the
sidelines of the conference “the Future of Asia” in Tokyo , Japan , on May
21.
Senator Hirohiko informed PM Dung that Japan has expanded the scope of its
information technology training at the University of Technology and is eager to
build a centre in Vietnam to train nurses to work in Japan .
The congressman also pointed out the need for both countries to create more
opportunities and facilities, in addition to the two existing Japan-Vietnam Cultural
Centres in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City , to promote further cultural
cooperation, especially cultural exchanges.
He vowed to lobby for more support to increase Japan ’s ODA for Vietnam ,
particularly in the fields of education, training, infrastructure, and
environmental protection.
PM Dung said he was pleased to witness the rapid developments in the two
countries’ bilateral ties in all fields.
He appreciated the Senator’s goodwill in campaigning for a nursing training centre
in Vietnam and pledged to assign the relevant ministries and sectors to work
closely with their Japanese partners to put the project into action as soon as
possible.
The PM lauded Senator Hirohiko for his friendship and for contributing to enhancing
relations between the two legislative bodies and the two countries’ joint work in
