DEFENSE MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS COMMANDER OF U.S. EUROPEAN COMMAND
Baku, May 21 (AzerTAc). Safar Abiyev, Defense Minister of Azerbaijan has today met with Bantz J. Craddock, commander of U.S. European Command.
Abiyev said US-Azerbaijan military cooperation is successful.
Defense Minister said unless Armenia withdraws its troops from occupied territories of Azerbaijan, the tension in the region will deepen even more, making it impossible to solve the conflict peacefully. According to Abiyev, Europe and OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries must heap pressure on aggressive Armenia otherwise undesirable processes are inevitable.
General Bantz Craddock stressed the need to tackle the tension. US General hailed Azerbaijan`s contribution to the international security system and peacekeeping operations in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.
US Ambassador Anne Derse was present at the meeting.
