Kyrgyzstan, Turkey to further develop cooperation in migration

Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2021. / Kabar /. Consul General of Kyrgyzstan Lira Sydykova met on Thursday in Ankara with Director of the Office of the Migration Service of Turkey Savash Unlu. The diplomatic mission reported that during the meeting a high level of bilateral cooperation was noted, as well as topical issues of cooperation in the field of migration were discussed. The consul general expressed a request to reduce the tariffs of visa fees when applying for a residence permit, taking into account the increasing number of Kyrgyz citizens living in Turkey, amnesty for Kyrgyz citizens illegally staying in Turkey, and also noted the difficulties in issuing documents by Kyrgyz citizens to extend their stay in Turkey. The director of the department of the migration service gave explanations on the mechanism for obtaining permits for the stay and implementation of labor activities of foreign citizens. Also, he expressed his intention to consider the proposals of the Kyrgyz side by agreement with the authorized bodies of Turkey Following the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation in the field of migration.
