GREEK AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN VISITS BAKU SLAVIC UNIVERSITY
Baku, May 21 (AzerTAc). Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ioannis Metaksas was a guest of “Ambassador Hour” club in the Baku Slavic University (BSU).
Pro-rector of BSU Asif Hajiyev briefed the ambassador on the University`s history and international relations.
Hajiyev spoke of relations between BSU and Greece-based higher education institutions. He also touched upon prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Ioannis Metaksas said Azerbaijan and Greece cooperate both bilaterally and within the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
“Both Azerbaijan and Greece are transit countries. Oil and gas of Russia and Kazakhstan is transported to Europe through Azerbaijan while Azerbaijan`s gas is transported via Greece”, said the ambassador.
The diplomat also stressed the role of tourism in bilateral relations.
