Kyrgyz president sends message to participants of 3rd Int’l Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation in Seoul

Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in South Korea Dinara Kemelova read out a message of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to participants of the 3rd International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation in Seoul. The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that the 3rd International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation, organized by the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation of Korea took place on Nov. 18 in Seoul. The event was attended by leaders of state bodies, major organizations, banks and companies of South Korea, former U.S. President Clinton, representatives of Russia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and other countries, including ambassadors of the New Northern Policy partner countries. In his message, Sadyr Zhaparov touched on Kyrgyzstan's favorable investment climate and invited Korean companies and banks to invest in such sectors as textile industry, green economy and energy, digitalization, creation of joint investment funds, agriculture and processing, creation of smart cities and smart farms, and tourism. The message also noted the great potential of hydropower and mineral resources in Kyrgyzstan. The Message of the Kyrgyz president notes the priority sectors of the economy as the main priorities of economic policy in accordance with the adopted National Development Program until 2026, which echo the main directions of the "nine bridges of the New Northern Policy", namely the development of green energy, transport and logistics infrastructure, agriculture, industry, investment cooperation, healthcare, information technology and tourism. The Kyrgyz leader also called on the countries of the region to promote liberalization and trade facilitation, encourage investment and development of transport logistics, and jointly introduce innovative technologies in industry and green economy. Further, during the Forum, Kyrgyz Ambassador Kemelova took part in a panel business session and presented the investment potential of Kyrgyzstan and favorable business opportunities in the country.
